Don't all vitamin supplements generally just get washed through your urine since your body can only absorbe so much at any given time.

Well anything the body does not want it gets rid of, including vitamin sources. I want to bring up a point though. If your system is not clean then your body's ability to absorb those vitamins becomes deficient. It is not only about getting the vitamin but absorbing it too before it passes through you like a train.

What the best brand to get of Vitamin C? when i saw a homeoppath she swore by Biocare said they were medical grade supplements. They arent cheap though so is a Tesco brand good enough if you use enough?

I know we have to avoid yeast, sugar etc and i personally am very allergic to aspartemane so have to steer clear of sweetners..

I normally take Vitamin C with bioflavonoids from Holland & Barrat (1000mg 3 times a day). Not sure how effective it is but I hope it works

Boots stuff is usually for *Healthy* people so I don't think it's gonna work well for us but I reckon Vitamin C should be alright.

I'm about to order some Milk Thistle from iHerb. Given that the recommended dose (in this thread) is 560mg, and I am VERY BAD at taking tabs, the nearest I can find to one-a-day is this one:

    http://www.iherb.com/Natrol-Milk-Thistl ... 14831?at=0

It's quite cheap, which is a "concern" Do you think it's OK?

(I had my thyroid zapped because of hyperthyroidism and am on 100mcg levothyroxine per day.)

    Many thanks,

Further to my (ignored ) post of 18 December, I have taken the plunge and bought the above Milk Thistle tabs. They contain Milk Thistle Extract 525mg (Silymarin 420mg) with some Dandelion, Black Radish, Burdock, Ginger and Parsley, and the recommended dose is 2 tabs once a day with a meal.

I've been taking them for a couple of weeks with no noticeable effects, positive or negative - except... maybe... a little extra flatulence?
