Postpartum Depression (PPD) is also called the postnatal depression, a symptom very commonly found after childbirth. It can happen almost anytime after the childbirth and within the first year after that.

Symptoms are:
Sadness, sleep disturbances, eating disturbances, low self-esteem, exhaustion, socially becomes withdrawn, can easily become frustrated, very low energy to do anything, don't feel like doing any work, feeling of emptiness, anxiety, anger, "panicky", hopelessness, cannot or does not want to communicate with others, etc.

Most of the causes for PPD are still unknown.
