    Thyroxine - Manufacturers in the UK

    As we all know that changing brands has some great consequences on the thyroid patient hence everyone of us tries to keep the same brand they have been on. Changing brands will results in increment/decrement of the dosage. This applies to all thyroid related medicines.

    Currently in the UK, there is only one brand available for Thyroxine - Eltroxin which is distributed by Goldfish

    Rest of them are sold as generic and following are the list of manufacturer I've come across so far.

    Nope I've started taking Eltroxin now......to be honest I dont think brand is that much important as I was having other issues and I blamed it to generic brand. Being on Eltroxin from GoldSheild for more than year and half, it didnt make much of a difference. @Ayse how do you get liquid thyroxine and from where? Did your GP recommend it?

    Patient's Leaflet ------->Eltroxin Tablets.PDF

    More Info here

    http://www.goldshield-pharmaceutical...duct-eltroxin/

    It has been confirmed by the manufacturers Goldshield, that all tablets in boxes marked either Eltroxin, Goldshield or Forley are in fact exactly the same product.This means that if you are one of the people who have found they feel better when taking the Eltroxin tablets, you should not notice any difference at all if your pharmacy supplies you with a box marked 'Goldshield' or a box marked 'Forley' instead of the box marked 'Eltroxin'.
