Question Help with test results please

Hi i just need some advice please on a second opinion. When i was 38, 8 years ago, i began gaining weight for no reason, so was tested for thyroid but apparently this showed as normal. Since then i have suffered with headaches, migraines, tired, no energy, brittle nails, you name it and i have suffered at some point over the years. Doctors have tested me approximately 4 times over 8 years but every time results come in as normal. The doctors keep saying it is just stress and now its the menopause. My gut instinct is that i do have a thyroid problem but cannot get one doctor to maybe just try me on some meds to see if it makes a difference to me.

My last results were (apologies if they are round the wrong way as i cannot remember) TSH 1.3 and T4 14. They would not look at other tests like T3 because apparently they only do that if one of the TSH or T4 was elevated.

My grandmother had underactive thyroid so it runs in the family and a cousin has just been diagnosed in the last year too. I feel so frustrated as i am fed up with no energy, unable to lose weight, on propranolol now for headaches. I just want to feel well.

Can anyone help with advice on where i could go. I am based in the UK.

I'm not in the UK but have you tried another doctor? Sometimes when we're not satisfied with what the doctor tells us we go doctor hopping till we find one that listens to us

I have tried different ones and at different surgeries as i have moved a few times, but each time they look at the result and just say it must be stress or its my menopause, try and exercise more. Sometimes i wish i had private medical as they would test me properly.
