    Weight Loss and thyroxine?

Hi I am new here, I was just diagnosed a couple weeks ago with an underactive thyroid. I went in because of all my symptoms and the fact that I could not keep weight off of me. I can lose the weight, but it comes back on so fast and strong. I just knew something was off. Anyways I am taking the generic pill and he told me it would take about 2 months for my symptoms to go away. I go back in then also to check my numbers again.

My question is, who here has actually gotten results of weight loss after being diagnosed? Do you have to change the way you eat, are there foods that make an underactive thyroid worse? I have done so much research on this and I am still so confused.

A friend of mine suggested to take Oxy Pro Elite, because it has something in it that helps your thyroid also, it has great reviews. But I wanted to come to y'all and see if anyone else has taken this? I will be asking my Dr. tons more questions when I go in, but I didn't want to wait another 6 weeks haha.

Dear @Flutterby I would say it's a good start. At least you have identified thyroid is the problem. If your weight is coming and going then I dont think it's underactive thyroid only. It could be thyroid going up and down and during that, your body retains some water and then removes it.

My recommendation would be to stay away from Oxy Pro Elite for time being as thyroid functions take sometime to stabilise. I know you are very impatient to lose weight but if you take Oxy Pro at the same time as thyroid hormone, you wouldnt know which one is working for you?

Thank you, you're right, I should watch and see how these pills work for me. He started me on a lower type dose to see how my body would react to it. So in 2 months I guess I will if it needs to go up or not. Thank you again! And congrats on the weight loss, I am in the same boat, I can never eat because I am just simply not hungry either. I try to force myself to eat more than one meal a day and it is so hard. If I don't diet or workout my weight stays the same and I don't gain or lose. But if I workout really hard and too much, and eat better things, I can lose some weight, but it comes back on the second I stop working out. It is so frustrating.
