Help please I underactive and feel awful

    Hi guys

I'm new to this site and am also newly diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism! I am currently taking Levothyroxine. I am still really ill with the thyroid problem, symptoms being, bad head, dizziness, nausea, breathing problems, and vision problems. I'm worried that i'm not getting any better and my doctors just keep sending me on my way. I have had two blood tests with nothing else seeming to be the problem. Could someone please help or give some advice.

    Graeme

    Hi Graeme @graemeb9803 and welcome

Seems quite strange if you have hyperthyroidism and you have been put on thyroxine. The reason I say so is that in hyper state your thyroid produces extra hormone than you need them and thyroxine will also give you extra hormone....so actually it shouldnt be like that. Unless you have removed your thyroid or you are on block replacement therapy?

    Hi Mike

I was told I had Hyperthyroid unless I have been prescribed the wrong medication. I will take this up with my doctor tomorrow. I'm haven'y had my thyroid removed and i'm not on any other treatment. Although, I have been prescribed Antibiotics recently for my vision the doctor thinking it may be an eye infection. I was wondering if the antibiotics may be having a negative effect with the thyroxine. I actually hope they send me to the hospital as I am getting to a stage where I can't go on feeling like this.

Yes @graemeb9803 best thing is to ask for a copy of your test results. It could be he got you mixed and you are actually hypothyroid hence taking thyroxine. Vision problems and double eye vision is usually a hyperthyroidism symptom.

    Hi Mike

I have been back to the docs and I have underactive not overactive as I thought. I don't understand this vision thing and I feel pretty helpless with no Doctor caring or wanting to help me. I really don't know what to do now.

@graemeb9803 did you ask for your test results? What are your test results?

Blimey....your doctor should have explained it a better to you. Now a days doctors dont seem to have anytime to discuss issues or explain things to their patients anymore.
