Hi all I'm new to this Forum & have multinodule goitre

I'm 45 years of age and have been struggling with hypo/hyper symptoms for a long time now due to an autoimmune disease. I have a multinodular goitre and am going underactive. My main concerns are how long I have to be in this euthyroid state til I am put on medication. Does anyone have any information regarding this?

    hi @AmIGoingMad

How big is the multinodular goitre and how was it identified? Did you go for a scan?

Do you have any hypo or hyper symptoms?

I would have thought goitre would bring you Over active rather than underactive? Euthyroid depends what were your test results for thyroid? Please dont trust doctors with thyroid and always check the numbers yourself.

Sorry to ask loads of questions but it gives a good idea what is going on?

I have a number of nodules that are benign thankfully. Yes I had an u/s with fine needle aspiration.

I'm constantly going u/a and o/a due to autoimmune disease but producing 'normal' test results!

@AmIGoingMad when you say producing "Normal" results......are these results consistent or they vary a little bit but still are within test range?

My initial results were high on the fT4 and low on tsh but within range. I'm awaiting results from endoc any time now. My TPantibodies are in the elevated range 268!!

@AmIGoingMad if antibodies are very high, that means they attack your thyroid gland and in turn your thyroid produces more hormones to counter that. Sometimes antibodies go down and your thyroid returns to normal and sometimes it goes the other way around.

I dont know much about antibodies and I dont think anyone else does either as they are mystery to everyone....how these are produced and why these are produces....no one has the answer sadly!
