Help Balloon ok, sohow long can I expect to be like this?

At the risk of sounding selfish and loutish, how long does this thing last? I've been like this (no energy, shaky and dizzy) for a month now! I see a consultant very soon but also go back to work too.

My heart races continually at the moment and I am having a nap every afternoon, will this be me for good??????

@poorlyboy It depends mate how long your body has been under or overactive. I was overactive all my life and then after visiting hospital and going through a roller coaster of under and over, I finally decided to remove thyroid all together (On doctor's advise). Now I feel it was the worst decision of my life but can't do much now apart from moaning

Anyway.....I keep asking for test results so it's better to ask for them as otherwise you wouldnt know where do you stand.

In terms of taking nap and exercise......there is no harm in that. Your heart might be racing due a number of reasons and not only because of thyroid so couldn't say much on that.

I am underactive now without any thyroid but my heart still races....it has raced all my life and now I have learnt to live with it

I am of the thought that I will be on some sort of medication for life. I just want my legs back to normal really.

@poorlyboy thyroid medication is for life and in some rare cases, thyroid adjusts itself to produce proper hormones.

You'll recover but it just takes a little bit of time and patience.
