    Borderline Overactive

    Hi all,

I just got my blood test results back for my thyroid and it shows that I am right on the line of being over active. I had the same test done around a year ago and had the same result. I was just wondering if this would be enough to cause me any health problems? I dont know the actual specifics of the result, it was on the NHS.

Sorry if this is abit vague.

    all.

    Hi @mikeyr01 and welcome

Best thing would be ask for the test results to check how borderline active you are. You are unlikley to get a treatment for borderline test results anyway.

I wouldnt touch even if you are mildly overactive as thyroid keeps changing and if you focus on right diet, it may well go back to being normal.

Like you said, nothing has changed since last year so I'd just leave it well alone unless you are getting unbearable symptoms.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Mike and thanks.

    I do have the following:

    mood swings, irritability and nervousness
    difficulty sleeping
    fatigue
    muscle weakness
needing to pass stools (faeces) or urine frequently
diarrhoea or steatorrhoea (excess fat in your stools)
    sudden weight loss or gain
    loss of interest in sex

I was wondering if it was an adrenal problem. my main issues however are stomach/ bowel related which they seem to not be able to find a reason for. other than ibs of course!
