    1st Visit to Docs .....

I had my first appointment with the doctor today since being told I had an underactive thyroid. I started on 50mcg of a day last week and after discussion with my doctor this morning he suggested that we actually move up to 75mcg.

I asked about my TSH and T4 Levels, TSH was 1000 and T4 was 1.2

I have to go back for a blood test for antibodies in a few weeks time and am also getting booked in for an ultrasound at the local hospital.

    Any comments are welcome.

Oh dear god....@Manc1976 I dont think 75mcg will do any good to you. You'll need at least 125mcg or above to get your TSH back into the range.

I am shocked that you haven't mentioned that you are feeling like dead person walking with that sort of TSH!

Well, the increased dose to 75mcg has made a massive difference to me even only after a few days. Today it was my daughter's birthday party with 25 kids in a community centre, and I was up at 9am to make all the food and get everything prepared. I have been on my feet all day and not sat down once. Got home about an hour ago and still feel fine, although my legs hurt just a little bit. I think I will sleep well tonight though

I spoke to my doc today and am not going back to work until at least 4 October now. I also asked him to up my dosage and he agreed that we should go to 100mcg a day, but he doesnt want to increase it further until we have the next set of blood tests.

I have my ultrasound booked for this Thursday at the local hospital, will see what happens.
