    Swollen legs

I have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. My feet, ankles and knees are swollen, and when I told my GP she said she didn't think it was anything to do with my thyroid, but just a coincidence. It seems strange that they haven't been swollen before. I also have difficulty walking up stairs, and I have cramp like pain in my calves. especially when I'm in bed. Any help would be appreciated.

hI BLOSSOM, not sure about the swollen legs, but cramping is definetly a symptom of Thyroid disease.

Had your GP prescribed water tablets?

Hi thyroid guy, thanks for your reply. No, ny GP hasn't prescribed water tablets, she's given me beta blockers as my heart was beating very fast. I'm hoping to see an endocrinologist, but I can't get an appointment for a month. My ankles and legs are still very swollen.
