    Colonic cancer

    Good afternoon
Hope every one is well today.
Anyone heard of a link between hypothyroidism and colonic cancer, please? I have to have a colonoscopy and polypectomy soon. A biopsy shows I have borderline cancer. I know that a slow metabolism can be harmful in this way. I wondered if anyone else had come across this, or are the two coincidental, I wonder?
Cheers, have a good weekend. anni

    Hi Ric
. A little worried, of course, but just caught things in time, I hope and think. I am not sure if there is a link - I was wondering, that is all. If there is any link between slow metabolism and intestinal/colonic problems.
Hope you and yours are well. Almost one! Millie was one last Sunday Take care, anni

Oh Annie, sorry to hear your news, and I hope your tests will turn out good for
you. I dont know about a connection between thyroid disease and colonic cancer,
but there is definitely a connection with T.D. and IBS, Chrones Disease and Coeliac
Disease so it wouldn't be surprising at all .Thyroid disease can affect every cell in
    the body.

Lots of positive vibes coming your way....

    Re: Colonic cancer

Well, colonoscopy and polypectomy over, thank goodness. Borderline cancer found in first histology but feel quite reassured that I am ok. I'll get full results soon and probably be referred for regular monitoring. So - more colonoscopies - not pleasant - but necessary. I do recommend anyone with any sign of bleeding to go for a check up - it is so important. Wish I'd gone years ago and not just thought it was a pile associated with childbirth. A yukky subject I know but colonic cancer kills. Thank you for kind thoughts. ann x
