Since my b12 reduction, I have been getting numbness and...

Tingling in my hands and feet, I have Carpel tunnel syndrome anyways, but its spread to my feet now,

I'm just wandering by reducing my B12 from 5000 to 1000 I have reduced to much,..

what do you guys think, or is it unrelated?

    TIA

We are all so different, Ric, in our absorption and utilisation of B12, its really a case of finding our own levels, but Dr. M. says a maintenance dosage of 2,000 mcg daily should be ok for the older person
As you are young but not not enjoying the best health I should imagine this 2,000 ug would be the least you require.

AS your blood test showed high levels on 5,000 ug, my guestimate would be either 2/3000 would suit you, and I think the tingling in the feet is definitely the result of you dropping too low.

Ric, if you had those symptoms before you started B12 and they have returned than you can safely say that is' B12 but if that's the first time you are feeling those symptoms, it could be something else as well.

I read somewhere that too much of Vitamin A can cause numbness...not sure about tingling though.

I never had those issues myself but then again I don't have a wife

And of course, thyroid disease itself causes tingling and numbness, if not correctly medicated, But
I think you are pretty good on that score, Ric ?

Laura, you shouldn't accept that your levels of either thyroid tests or B12 are "fine", B12 has such
a vast range in this country, like 211 to 911, and doctors will say fine if you are anywhere in that range
but obviously someone who tests at 212 is not going to feel as good as someone at 910 even though
they are both "in range". You have to aim for at least the OPTIMAL, which in the case of B12 is over
    500 pg/ml.

With thyroid - hypo - most people say they feel best with a TSH of around 1 and both T4 and T3 in the
top quartile of their respective ranges.

I thought Patchyboys' name was Laura, tried to check in previous posts but they are missing. Have I got it wrong? If so, apologies to Patchyboy. I'm claiming thyroid-brain for that.
