    hypertension/angina related to hypothyroidism?

    Hi all,

I have been diagnosed with hypertension & angina & wondered if anyone feels it's related to untreated hypothyroidism. My pulse rate is also racing at all times, I had a 24hour monitor fitted which recorded my B.P. & pulse rate. I eat very healthy foods & walk about 2 hours a day to keep my weight down. I have never smoked & don't drink so I cannot help myself anymore. My T.S.H. is now 3.4 & it rises every time I have a blood test but despite having most of my thyroid gland removed due to a suspicion of cancer (thankfully it wasn't cancer) my G.P. won't let me have thyroid hormones. I also have pins & needles constantly in my hands & feet. Despite taking ferrous sulphate for several weeks my iron stores are only 18 whereas before my thyroid op. my iron store was overloaded! Basically everything is going wrong with me & I'm only 50.

    to the site

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems!! Heart problems can be caused by hypothyroidism. So yes it could of been the cause!!

Have you thought about seeing a Thyroid specialist, if You feel your not well on no meds? I would if I were you. GP's are the devil's of the Throid world. They think throw a few pills at us and we will be fine/ that might work for 80+% of the population, but not everyone!!!!!!
