Hi guys, just got back from Dr skinners, he as always was very kind and interested in what I was saying. He said he sees a massive improvement in me, and the form he gives out to his patients before a consultation, I ticked far few symptoms that 12 months ago!!

He is going to suggest to my GP to prescribe Armour for me, and he has also increased my Thyroxine by 100mcg. He talked about reducing my Armour slightly and seeing how we get on, and possibly in the future coming of it all together.

I found out that before Treatment my TSH was 25.7 and free thyroxine was 8.5. Dr skinner was shocked to see such a high TSH.

So Im pleased 90 well spent. Fingers crossed my GP will precribe Armour!!

Hi Ric, I dont understand, why would be increase your thyroxine when your TSH was extremely low? 100mcg is a lot to take in one go so I would do gradual increase.

Its good to have another positive review of Dr. Skinner.....I still havent got a clue if it's a she or he?

Dr Skinner goes by Symptoms rather than blood tests, and says some people dont feel well unless their THS is as close to 0 as possible.

He did a full exam of me and sees no signs of Hyperthyroidism. we discussed a meds increase, and 100mcg was what we agreed on. If I feel unwell then I will speak with him again!!

Im positive of the future now

I am really glad you had a good consultation Ric. That TSH eh? who ignored your diagnosis on a TSH like that? Is that a malpractice thing?

I am also wondering why Dr Skinner might want you off armour all together? It gives things that levo doesn't, I would have thought a smaller ratio would be sensible. Anyway who am I to question him? lol. I just remember getting to the state I am now on years of errr 'optimal' treatment on thyroxine. Now I am falling to bits lol.

Anyway, that is a long way off, hope you do well hon
    lotsa luv
