    Whitters,

That's a very interesting research article. It's exciting to see some med research groups doing these type studies because they hit on some really important things at times. I've seen medical sources stating for years that the endocrine system runs in sync, in-a-loop and when one gland in the system dysfunctions it can affect the others.
Here's one that's on this area of study entitled "Effect of altered thyroid hormone levels on hypothalamic-pituitary- adrenal function">> http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3499449
Published by the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

for letting me know that Dawn. It worked for me when I first posted it but now I can't get to the article via that link either.
Here is the same article at the PubMed site>> http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3499449
This link should work plus I changed it in the earlier post too.

    Ah Yes Jim

I see the article now, very informative and explains much about why people when hypo become out of sinc in other areas of the HPA. Well doesn't actually explain why, just tells it like it is Oh what a wonderful life we hypos have
Now how to overcome the effects. I am having great problems with it, even taking supposedly sufficient thyroxine over the years didn't save me.

    lotsa luv

Same here Dawn, I still have symptom phases and after prolonged extra stress can hit me pretty hard. I definitely have a blunted HPA axis according to the Dr. I was seeing just prior to this newest one but he informed me that there really is no specific treatment for it. I do what I know to do however, like taking adrenal support to help with it as much as possible.

    Jim
for a long time since my early 20s the wierdest thing happening to me was that after a few months after some intense stress I have a nervous breakdown, panic disorder, anxiety kicks in. I now wonder if it has something to do with the stress knocking off the HPA and trying to right itself suddenly after so long it fails and I crack up. Just a thought. Wonder why it takes that long though. Something maybe in adaptation sydrome?

    lotsa luv
