    lack of Facial hair...

My facial hair really is pathetic!! Its so sparse, an embarrassing beard is what it is... I asked the doctor when I was first diagnosed with Thyroid disease, and he said, it was probaly alopecia.. Do I blame my Thyroid disease or is it just what it is? Will it get better as I get older? I know some people dont care about beards, but when you havent got something you crave it all the more!!
I'm not an expert. I'm here to share my Thyroid journey and tell you all my experience of Thyroid disease.

My younger brother has the same thing. His bear doesnt grow that much....not sure what's the reason as all others in the family are okay.

Some say it's testosterone thing but not sure. I would say it's genetic may be?
Never thought about it you said, if you don't have it, you crave it desperately then!

    Re: lack of Facial hair...

That's a problem i haven't had to deal with as yet. My beard requires shaving daily but the beard part I've grown grows ain all different directions so I have to trim a great deal more than I used to. Part of this is because i'm approaching age-46 and have a lot more gray in it.
My head-hair on the other hand breaks off in moderate amounts. I'll see a dozen or so hairs in the sink each morning but non are full-length ones so I'm certain it's breakage and not actually falling out at the follicle. I too think the problem from either direction can be sex hormone related and these can all change when we have thyroid disease. Some doctors are of the opinion that they all balance out with thyroid treatment but I feel in many patients special attention has to be given.
