    Sunken eyes appearance

Does anyone else get sunken eyes appearance after waking up in the morning? I feel that I am getting that from past two weeks.....not a very helpful situation on already so many problems

I think it happens when I don't sleep well but there wasn't a site in the past six months now when I slept and got up feeling totally refreshed.

I dont think I get this well I dont notice it! I did use to get a twitchy eye caused by tiredness which is also a symptom of Thyroid disease!

Maybe a trip to your DR wouldn't hurt?

    Hi
Yes, I look like that in a morning. Frustrating because I stopped smoking 6 months ago, started to look much better, then started with this a couple of months later and look drawn and tired, I think, whether I sleep or not. Make up can help - but not all will want to wear it(!) Anni

    Hello

My son has major problems sleeping and I quite often think that if he did get a few good nights sleep then it would make a very big difference. So if anyone has any ideas how to get to sleep WITHOUT sleeping pills it would be helpful.

I haven't seen that symptom of a thyroid problem being a twitching eye when you are tired. It is quite interesting because I have had that all my life in fact my mother said she could always tell when I was tired because of the twitch and I haven't been diagnosed with thyroid.

    Re: Sunken eyes appearance

David, I had some major problems with sleep after starting on thyroid medicine. Previously I used to sleep like a baby and never ever had sleep problem.

Now I take ZMA from Optimum Nutrition (Any ZMA or Magnesium will do actually), it has zine and magnesium in it which apparently aids in sleeping. I also take 100mg 5-HTP which is basically tryptophan in another form and both of these have improved my sleep.

They say you can incrase 5-HTP up to 500mg if you dont get good sleep and once it's achieved, over a period of time, you can start reducing it.

Not quite sure about twitching of an eye as never heard of this related to a thyroid
