Back From Barts Went very well

    Hello,

I had a great neurologist, he kept telling me to stop saying sorry, I sai Iam sorry I feel embarrassed as I have so many notes on my sheet of paper and some consultant havent been to impressed by it. He said no, iam glad you have written it down in fact can i have your notes to refer to !!

I said ive had problems for 3 years but new symptoms with weakness last year. I told him briefly about all my problems and allergies etc and then explained what happened last year.

I also advised him I was a fitness professional aswell and how i cant do anything now etc..

He said he wants me back to have mri of my spine and a mri of my head,. i said ive had one he said this one is more thorough. He said there maybe be something pressing on something he thinks but if not he doesnt think its neurlogical but i definatley have something affecting my muscles on the right side.

I told him Iam under the pit specialist and gave him a copy of my blood test results (he kept them) I told himthe specialist (pit) has refered me to her neuromuscular dept, he said this is distatrorous theres tpo manyt doctors in volved to many hospitals, I am going to write to you doctor.

He said you definatley have a problem and we will get to the bottom of it and not to worry!!

Then I went and had my private tests done and thyroid antibody so iam all ready to rumble. LOL

Feeling very positive now as someone is going to help me and my family are nbeing mnore supportive as i havent had another arse doctor who wouldnt even akwnowlge my problem...

xxxx See you soon feel really ill going to bed

    Good work Mandy thumbup

I bet MRI scan will be very useful...oh well at least he is listening to you.

When are you getting test results back and let us know what treatment your new doctor suggests to you

Will be interesting to see how he deals with the situation after the initial doctors didnt pay much attention to your problem properly

    guys..x

Well, he is writing to my doctor to complain about me seeing so many doctors and different hospitals..and he has booked me in for the scans but said it will be within 6 weeks i have them..

I said id had an mri brain but he said this is a far more complex test?? dont know what that means bit scarey..

I am positive that he took my hormone reulst with my low t4 etc on there so hoping he will help with that or maybe its causing all of it. I have read that Barts are top for endocrine for things like cushings disease so low t4 should be a doddle for them...i hope ..

I will let you know what happens my new friends..thanks take it easy mandxx thumbup

Re: Back From Barts Went very well

Mandy, I too commend you for being so prepared for your Doc visit1 I've taken in several pages of info to my visits at times as well. Some Dr.s didn't appreciate it while others did but regardless, I do everything I know that helps in getting me best possible treatment because like all of you, I have a family that depends on me so I take my treatment serious. Proactiveness in our treatment and informing our Dr.s about our unique needs is what we should all do! I'm glad to hear your visit went so well!
I also want to add I had an MRI done just over a year ago due to severe spells of muscle weakness & other neuro type symptoms. Mine came back clear so my intermittent neuro symptoms (have been near non-extistent for several months) I believe are from autoimmune thyroid disease and my disregulated HPA Axis (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenals) that's commonly seen in CFS and FMS type syndromes.
