    Re: Depression have role?

They could be depressed as is known to happen for women with postpartum syndrome. As the hormone levels change during pregnancy, women tend to feel depressed after child birth. So it is a possibility.

Yes. Dr. Cohen has done some research on Depression and Thyroid on his 3 patients. The case study and results share here http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/cohen.htm

Depression is not only caused in pregnancy but in working environment too.

I mentioned pregnancy as I knew a case study where they found relation between thyroid function and postpartum depression. I know there are other occasions where people feel depressed.

    Hiya Hammy

There can be a depressive element with any chronic illness for any number of reasons - just being ill at all can be a good enough one nevermind all the associated stress in trying to cope. Depression can be a symptom of untreated TD which when treated effectivly/properly very often eases or disappears all together.

I believe it's mentioned in both the Mary J Shomon ebooks in our Thyroid Books and Downloads section, hammy. You might want to check them out for more information on that. Hope that helps!

    Re: Depression have role?

We seemed to have touched on this Topic before and we were saying that ANY kind of mood or chemical change in the body can cause depression.
