Hi All
Newly diagnosed underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) blood results FreeT4 13.8 TSH 11.11 symptoms palpitations, chest pains, high blood pressure, none of the normal symptoms weight gain, hair loss, feeling cold. At first the G.P was reluctant to prescribe me thyroxine as he said it would make my entire symptoms worse, but after numerous visits he eventually prescribed Levothyroxine 25 mcg. Started to feel much better after the first hour of taking the first tablet and by day 4 felt like a new women, one week later visited G.P again still feeling great and was told to up the dose to 50mcg which I did, but after taking the 50 mcg started to feel not very well again, hypo, like coiled spring and didnít get much sleep for the next two nights , G.P couldnít understand why I felt so bad and reluctantly reduced the dose back to 25mcg again, but over this last week all the original symptoms have returned and Iím now on beta blockers for the palpations. Has anyone had to the same problems and any advice would be appreciated, because at the moment I seem to be going one step forward and twenty steps back.
